Smell to engage curiosity and play

– resource to refocus our anxiety

Smell is a direct link to the olfactory bowl, so exploring smells can be a really good exercise.

They can be smells around the home: spices, citrus fruits, flowers, bubble baths or hand creams.

Maybe in your room, you could have some aromatherapy oils and play around with different kinds of smells.

It can be a really nice way of engaging play and curiosity, which is usually lost when there’s anxiety, to develop a much needed resource for you to use.
